Recording your idea, by filing a disclosure, benefits you because UCSF has many resources to help you research and scale your innovation. (UCSF employees who invent, have an obligation to report innovations that emerge while using UCSF's facilities, equipment, or funds.)

SHARE YOUR IDEA ... but don't give it away
Confidentiality agreements (CDAs) allow UCSF researchers to discuss findings and ideas while protecting future commercialization potential and evaluate opportunities for collaboration. These are also called Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) or as Secrecy Agreements.
If you think you may need a CDA or if you have received a CDA from a company, contact UCSF's Office for Innovation, Technology and Alliances for help.
